EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES OF FAITHHERITAGE CHRISTIAN ACADEMY
The educational objectives listed below illustrate the philosophy of the school. The primary objective is to provide a Christian education by which students may develop in all the important areas of life -- spiritually, academically and physically.


Spiritual Goals
Our goal is that each student will . . .

understand that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons -- the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit -- and that these share one divine nature.
understand the attributes of the Triune God as described in Scripture.
understand the purpose of the incarnation, the death, and the resurrection of Christ.
understand the necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for eternal salvation.
understand his personal need for Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
understand that it is by grace alone and through faith and trust in the saving work of Christ that we are saved.
uphold the Bible as the infallible, inspired Word of God and make a commitment to read it, study it and live by its teachings as the final authority for life. recognize the need for the work of the Holy Spirit in his life in the areas of
sanctification, witnessing, edifying the body of Christ, and understanding the Scriptures.
develop a recognition of self-worth based on his position in the body of Christ.
recognize the need to support the local church within the body of Christ.
recognize his responsibility to nurture and support the body of Christ.
gain a Biblical perspective of authority as it pertains to the home, the school, the local church, and government.
recognize his responsibility to share his faith in Jesus Christ with others.
serve God in all of life by serving his fellow man in all human relationships -- familial, social, educational, political, economic, vocational, recreational, and spiritual.
be conscious of the imminent return of Jesus Christ.
develop moral responsibility and behavior based on scriptural principles.
recognize that the ultimate purpose of man is to glorify God.


Academic Goals
Our goal is that each student will . . .

approach our studies from a Biblical perspective and with Biblical presuppositions.
develop intellectual curiosity and eagerness for lifelong learning.
understand the importance of and the process for setting and achieving goals.
meet high academic standards in accordance with individual potential.
develop disciplined study habits.
attain a systematic knowledge of God's Word as expressed in Scripture.
develop skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
develop an appreciation and understanding of God's creative and sustaining work in creation.
develop state-of-the-art skills necessary for application in the fields of mathematics and science.
develop research skills.
develop independent and objective thinking skills.
develop an appreciation of God's plan in history and His purpose for government.
develop an understanding of contrasting political, economic, and social patterns for the purpose of gaining an appreciation for our American heritage.
develop special interests and abilities.
learn to apply knowledge practically.
develop computer literacy.


Physical Goals
Our goal is that the student will . . .

understand the importance of building and maintaining a healthy and clean body as a temple of the Holy Spirit.
establish an effective individual physical fitness program.
develop a concern for public health and safety.
recognize and develop his or her athletic skills.


Social and Other Goals
Our goal is that each student will . . .

develop responsibility and group interaction skills.
learn to subordinate his self-interests and needs in favor of those of others.
practice social graces based on a love and consideration for the needs of others.
develop an appreciation and respect for the worth and dignity of the individual.
develop an acceptance of the other person regardless of religious background, race, economic status or academic achievement.
learn to live harmoniously and peacefully with people of all cultures.
develop an awareness of civic rights and responsibilities.
be able to accept majority decisions while maintaining a
respect for those with differing opinions.
develop attitudes of patriotism and loyalty for productive citizenship in a democracy.
develop respect for personal and public property.
develop an awareness of future family responsibilities and attain skills in preparing to accept those responsibilities.
develop an understanding and appreciation of the Christian principles for living in a family.
